Great 30 minute meal

Yes..there's a show that features 30 minute meals, but you can do it on your own.
You just need to know the cooking times of what you are making and cook them in an order that gets them all done in 30 minutes. Here's just one example of a quick and wonderful meal.

NEED:

1 butternut squash
Pork Chops - whatever number you need for your family
Canned corn - or canned veggie of your choice
Potatoes - just a few, for those who do not care for squash - can be eliminated.
Pepper
Garlic Salt
Parsley Flakes
BBQ Sauce

Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees. Make sure your oven rack is in the center of the oven.

Cut the squash in half, lengthwise. With a spoon, remove and discard the seeds. Place in a shallow cooking pan, lined with foil. If the squash does not set up straight you can use small pieces of foil to hold it up. Sprinkle the hollowed area with salt and pepper, fill with brown sugar. Top the sugar with a tablespoon of butter and sprinkle with nutmeg. Set aside.

Spray a shallow baking pan with cooking spray and add the pork chops. Sprinkle with pepper, garlic salt and parsley flakes. Add two tablespoons of BBQ sauce and spread, lightly, with a fork.

Place the pork chops and the squash in the oven and set your timer for 30 minutes.

If you are making potatoes....peal, quarter and place in sauce pan to boil. ** I run hot water in the pan and place on the stove while I m pealing the potatoes to give it a head start on the cooking time.

Place whatever veggie you are making in a sauce pan and place on stove on LOW.

When the timer goes off, everything will be done.

Drain the potatoes and put in a bowl.**check the potatoes, as different types cook a bit differently..if they are not done..plate the rest of the items and do the potatoes last. Place a few pats of butter on them and sprinkle with parsley flakes.

Take the chops and squash out of the oven and plate them both.

Pour your veggies in a bowl.

This is a simple but fast meal.

ENJOY!
